Happy 4 Month Birthday Scotty!!

Even though it's a day late I want to say Happy 4 Month Birthday to my little baby boy.  He is such a joy to have in my life and I wouldn't change a thing about him.  I love you so much Scott and I can't wait to see you grow into a wonderful young man.

Halloween is Coming

I love dressing my dogs up for Halloween.  We have had several costumes through the past couple of years.......Elvis, Fire Hydrant, Army Man, and Underdog.  So while thinking about what Scott could be for Halloween (to be determined later) I came across this same costume on several costume websites.  It's a Watchdog!
How hard could this be to make?  I have crafted an Underdog costume for Ted before (which he won an award for).  I believe I could make this very simply with just felt.  So one of my new sewing goals is to make this costume for both of my beagle babies. The end product will be seen later.

They Worked!

My husband called me at work to tell me that Scott had a poo! And it was big and looked like his Gerber prunes which means that they worked. I sure hope it makes him feel better considering we had to get up the last two nights with a constipated little boy.

Prunes and Cortland

Well my dear little Scott has been a little on the constipated side lately. He seems to struggle when he needs to take a little poo. So we decided to give him Gerber prunes. He has already started on rice cereal, applesauce and pears. Bill took the opportunity to feed Scott and well you can see how it turned out.....

Prunes all over the face and the bib and the washrag. The good thing was he loved the prunes and he came clean!!

We also made the trek out to Cortland to see how our house was coming along. I was so excited to see that we had carpet and grass!!! Two weeks and counting until we move in. Scott even got the chance to try out the new carpet.

I Love Resales!

Today Scotty and I went to the St. John Lutheran Schools PTL Resale. All I can say is LOVE IT!!! I went to one a couple of weeks ago but I didn't get there until after 10 and it was picked over. This time I got there earlier. It cost me $1 to get in and then it was off to shopping. Scotty rode around in his front carrier and was a hit with the ladies, as always. I put on his little doggy hat this time, but it was too big so it sat sideways. One volunteer even came from across the other side of a table to talk to him. He was in such a good mood and it helped.

I didn't really have anything in particular that I needed or wanted. Scotty does need pants for the winter so I kept my eye out for that. Tables were set up with clothes...infant to bigger kids, toys for all ages, books and movies, and lots of baby items. We made our rounds and picked up a few items.

I spent $22.50 total on the following items: Old Navy Jeans for the winter, an adorable Old Navy shirt, an even cuter Baby Gap wool vest, a Gymboree jumper that Scott kept his hands on the whole time, a Eddie Bauer back window sun shade (we have one already and it is a godsend), a set of 3 CDs full of kids songs, Baby Einstein Santa's Music Box DVD, a Fisher Price Piggy Bank that teaches you how to count, and a Baby Einstein Turtle Music Box for his crib. I think I made out well. My favorite so far is the Baby Einstein Turtle.....it helped with Scott's nap time. Nap times can be a challenge.

Scooty's First Day at the Sitter

So to start off this blog I have decided to begin with Scott's first day at the sitter's house.

We were lucky to find our sitter in the newspaper. She was running an ad that she was interested in watching teacher's kids. Since my husband Bill works at a high school and works with teachers we fit the description for our sitter Amy. We met with Amy earlier this summer and she seemed wonderful. She has 5 kids of her own, including an infant that is a month older then Scott. Scott is the only child she was able to get for the year which is great.

So today was Scott's first day with Amy. He had previously stayed with a student from Bill's high school and her mom for a few days before Amy was ready. I went to pick Scott up at 5pm and was super anxious to see what Amy had to say. He was laying in his travel bed because he was tired and needed a little nap. She said that he had a meltdown and she was unable to console him. She tried to call the ladies that watched him last week and was not able to find them. She finally got him to settle down doing something. She said that her kids wanted to help feed him and that he really liked her daughter. She also indicated that she would like to try a pacifier with him. This is something that Bill and I are not the biggest fan of and Scott doesn't really care for them.....so we shall see how this will play out. We really don't think Other then that I believe it was something very new for him and he is used to sleeping on someone so that will be an adjustment for him. All in all hopefully things will stay good and he will soon adjust.
